A return to blogging…

I know, I know.  It’s been a looong time friends.  October has come and gone with it’s beautiful leaves and now we’re stuck in grey November.  I’ve been quite busy!  Wedding and family shoots, work at Welcome Inn and a trip up to Ottawa (and the 401 car accident on the way home) have all conspired to keep me from the old blog.  So, just to get me back in the swing of things… here are some pics from Sarah and Bryan’s wedding.  It was a cool, misty day which made for a beautiful backdrop on the farm.

the grave is now a groove

“The shackles are undone, the bullets quit the gun

The heat that’s in the sun will keep us when there’s none.

The rule has been disproved, the stone it has been moved

The grave is now a groove, all debts are removed

Oh can’t you see what love has done? Oh can’t you see what love has done?

Oh can’t you see what love has done? What it’s done to me?…Love left a window in the skies”

Peter & Becky

I had the immense pleasure of photographing Becky & Peter’s wedding today in Niagara Falls.  Such a sweet couple with who share deep faith and a genuine, natural love for one another.  Having met and fallen for each other in high school, these two have been really looking forward to this day for a while.  They were so organized! Becky had lists for everyone, including maps!  This made for such a great day for pictures, given that we were racing the weather.  What a joy to capture their celebration!  Here are some pics for today…

40 Years!

On the weekend we celebrated my folks’ 40th Wedding Anniversary.  40 years!  Wow.  It was a bit of a surprise party for them/Thanksgiving all rolled into one as they were away down in Arizona for their actual anniversary.  They toured around the Grand Canyon, experienced Red Rock to see the infamous Joshua Trees, saw the hoover dam and visited (briefly) Vegas.  Saturday afternoon brought family and friends all together for a celebration of their love and to laugh at old pictures.  Back in the day when they were first getting together, my dad had a motorcycle which my mother, of course, was not permitted to go on.  So, being the good kids they were, he would walk the bike and my mom home from school.  Then, when he decided that she was the one, he sold the bike and got a diamond ring…he loved that bike, but loved her more!  I’m still not sure if I believe that she didn’t sneak a ride home from school at least once though- I wouldn’t have been able to resist!  It was good to see them still laughing together after 40 years.  Thanks to Diane and Anslie for hosting and to my sister for making that delicious cake!!
